Cowboy Bebop will soon celebrate its 20th anniversary with many adventures in space, including the Space Dandy. For those who are still about to discover Bebop and her crew, you’ve come to the right place as we’re going to revisit it once more.

Characters

Spike, Jet and Faye are Cowboy Bebop’s main characters who find themselves in increasingly absurd situations. They're traveling between stars in the dilapidated Bebop. With a touch of the sitcom, each adventure is the examination of the character interaction and revealing personal motivations and complexities.

Gradually, the self-centered misfits become a family unit and not until the final moments of the show you won’t realize the importance each character has on other’s lives.

Plot

There is no continuous story here and each episode follows a different bounty. It’s more about characterization than story progression. It’s a bit more serious than Space Dandy, as some episodes are focused on unraveling the secrets of the character’s past. For example, one of them is Speak Like a Child.

Style

Everything is quite linear and clean-cut, presenting the most anime of this generation. However, it’s particularly effective in portraying the harsh environment of the space. It’s a struggle of humanity so the colors give a perfect gritty finish.

Music

Cowboy Bebop is a dream for music lovers as each episode is named after a musical style and incorporates a small portion of the genre in the soundtrack. It ranges from classical to heavy metal and some of the titles could make you even guessing the music connection, which makes it more brilliant.
