Tokyo Ghoul has a very unique and powerful story so if you didn’t watch it sooner, now is probably the time to start. This might be another anime of the past season that is a must-watch and the story of monsters roaming the Tokyo streets isn’t really new.

So what makes it so worth watching? A lot of things! The character development it really intense and done in such a way that it actually alters the overall feel of the second part of the series.

It’s hard to explain without spoilers but we’ll give our best. Voice overs are incredible and they required a ton of emotional acting. The screams get so real sometimes that it’s hard to sit through them.

The next thing is the storytelling which just gives you chills. It’s hard to come up with an original plot these days as there are so many stories that are just twisted over and over and stretched in so many ways. However, Tokyo Ghoul is showing that it’s still possible to come up with something unique and powerful.

They sometimes push the boundary, so let’s take an example in characters. Some of them just border on being annoying, like Tsukiyama (or Gourmet) who falls madly in love with the protagonist and fetishizes him.

His over-the-top melodrama just seemed like it added unnecessary minutes and no real value. Many characters turned like this at one point or another, but when you catch up, it will make sense.
